The ADModify Tool

Microsoft PSS provide a tool called ADModify.

This is an excellent tool that has a number of uses:

* Modify existing user attributes in bulk
* Export users from Active Directory
* Export users from Exchange 5.5
* Import users using LDIFDE.EXE

The ability to make bulk changes to Active Directory user attributes is an excellent feature. For example, you can disable HTTP access to many users at once, or perhaps remove unwanted SMTP addresses, tasks that aren't that easy to do without this utility.

This great tool can be found here.

I think its pretty worthy too...

Looks excellent

Just be careful when letting it enumerate an OU/Container with a vast number of objects; such as "Exchange System Objects" with all the PFs in. Even when I backed out and it appeared to close cleanly after hitting "Cancel", Task Manager reported it working away overtime until I eventually killed the process.

Wow!!! If Dan Winter thinks it is worthy it must be!!! Check out Windows 2000 Mag for an article on Admodify.

Hi Quoc... I've tried to e-mail the file to you, however it's bounced back as your mailbox has hit its storage limit. I'll upload the file so that you can download it, as it seems that MSFT's FTP isn't responding at the moment.

Posted by: Chris Meirick at May 25, 2004 4:36:20 PM

Please can someone send me the file, don't worry about any messages saying it was blocked as i'll get it anyway.

Thanks in advance

One problem I found with this tool.
We are using mandatory profiles in a terminal server enviroment.
When I want to change the profile path for some users the ADModify program adds \username after the path I put in.
Anyone knows how to get around this problem ???
