Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 2 Released

As outlined in MS KB 948016, Microsoft has released Rollup 2 for Exchange Server 2007 sp1 which makes a number of fixes. This is a cumulative update and therefore includes all interim updates released since sp1 for Exchange 2007. Exchange 2007 with Service Pack 1 is a prerequisite. In addition, any updates applied after Rollup 1 need to be uninstalled.

The 34.2 MB rollup file can be downloaded here.

Have there been any reports of Eudora no longer working via POP3 after installing this latest Rollup?? All of my POP Eudora clients have reported being broken. IMAP works fine.

Actually this is a bug in the Exchange 2007 RU2 release. Microsoft is working on it. The only workaround seems to be to uninstall RU2.

We just installed RU7 with a client and see the same problem, but it varies based on client & OS version. We used the same user credentials to test the below:

- Clients using Eudora 6.2 on MAC 10.5.X can send emails, but can not receive
- Clients using Eudora 7.1 in Windows XP can receive, but can not send
- Clients using Outlook Express on Windows xp can send and receive
- Clients using MAIL on MAC 10.5.X can send and receive

Has any news on this problem been made available? Technical Explanations, Bug fix ETA, Workarounds, etc...?

We found a work around:

To resolve this error:
1. Go to the File menu at the top of the screen and click New Text Document
2. In the New Text Document window, enter the following text:
x-eudora-setting:12909=PLAIN
3. The text will turn blue. Double-click on the blue text
4. Click the Set Setting button
5. Restart Eudora
You should now be able to check your mail normally.
